US Supreme Court Strikes Down US Administration’s Imposition of Tariffs Under IEEPA

On February 20, 2026, the US Supreme Court issued a significant decision clarifying the limits of presidential authority over trade policy. In a long-awaited ruling on the case of Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump and Trump v. V.O.S. Selections, Inc., the Court held that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.
